*BEST OF DTB #136* The Catholic Defender comments on Homosexuality

Posted by John Benko - December 25th, 2013

In light of the recent news of a young man after having a homosexual relationship, killed himself after his roommate videoed him in a sex scandal.

Unfortunately, the 19 year old College student jumped off the George Washington Bridge and took his own life.

From “Religious Tolerance.org” they report: The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services estimated 3 that “as many as 30% of completed youth suicides each year” are performed by gays and lesbians. Unfortunately, many information sources have quoted the 30% as if it is an absolute figure. The Department indicates that it is 30% or fewer. If we assume that the 30% figure is valid and that it is constant across the age range of 15 to 24 years, then approximately 1,488 suicides per year are committed by homosexual youth. If we assume that gays comprise 5% of the total number of youth, then the 1,488 suicides represent an excess of 1240 suicides related to their sexual orientation.

This source is obvously a pro-homosexual site, but the above information is alarming.  How tragic this is over total nonsense. I grieve for the soul of this young man. All we can do is pray the Lord have mercy on his soul. I’m afraid that the pro-homosexual crowd will politicize this most unfortunate death.

With all the events scheduled by the College to remember the young man, would they have done so to this extent if it had been a heteros Sexual encounter?

In the 1960′s and 70′s, the Gay Agenda was to ‘shock and awe’ as groups like ‘Queer Nation’ and other radical Gay groups would go to Churches and desecrate them. The Group ‘Queen’ were known to support the Gay agenda, their song, “We are the Champions” was used as a Gay Liberation Anthem.

In the 1980′s these groups put on suits and ties and became a political force. I know that the Homosexual agenda has been embraced by the Democratic Party since 1984 with the Mondale/Ferraro Presidential ticket.

Because America has been center right in our politics, the liberals have been whittling away at the fabric of society. They are pushing to promote the gay lifestyle even to kindergartners.

There is a major difference in opposing the ‘Gay Agenda’ from opposing the individual. Politically, I oppose ‘Gay Marriage’, marriage is strictly between a man and a woman.

I will go so far to say that marriage should be done through the Catholic Church. I know that in our society, that is not reality.

I oppose the secularism of our Country. I do not believe that Homosexuals should be able to adopt children.

Our society has drastically changed on this since 1993. I do not believe we should teach Homosexuality in public schools, that too, society has become more tolerant. I certainly oppose Homosexuals in the Military.

That would not be good for unit cohesion among other things. In saying all this, how do we respond when faced with someone who is a homosexual? I have two examples I will give that I have participated that I think was positive.

In 1979, after more than three years in College, my roommate began to open up to me for the first time that he was a homosexual. I had people ask me about it before, but I never knew, nor did I judge him with it.

He had feared me because he knew I was a jock and that I was openly against this lifestyle. He began to explain to me how he had been sexually assaulted by one of his Uncle’s when he was twelve years old. I did not condemn him, but actually felt compassion for him.

He was raised a Protestant and was interested in the Catholic Church out of curiosity from the debates. I told him that we all need forgiveness, and he could find it also. I also told him he needed to forgive his Uncle.

We would continue to study Christianity together and I was there to see him Baptized into the Catholic Church. Thus, the birth of the Catholic Defender!”

In Iraq (2006-2008), we had many people who were baptized and received into the Catholic Church.  What a blessing this was!

On Christmas Eve, 1997, after Midnight Mass (Soldiers Chapel at Ft. Campbell KY), I was up near the front of the church talking with some of my friends.

I began to feel eyes drilling holes in my back as I felt someone was watching me.

It was a strong feeling and I noticed two men looking on from the back pew at the back of the church. I ignored them as if they were not there as I continued to talk with friends.

After a few minutes, some of us began to walk down the isle to leave when one of the two men stopped me and asked if I would speak with them. I didn’t know them nor had I ever seen them before, but I sat down in the pew in front of them to speak with them.

They began asking me questions about the Church. They were asking me about the Bible, church history, values and moral. I began to answer their questions.

After about an hour the Chaplains Assistants wanted to kick us out so they can go home. It was nearly 2:00 in the morning. They wanted to continue so we met in the parking lot. This went on until 6:00 in the morning.

I told them that I needed to get home because my children will be getting up and ready for our family gift exchange. The two men asked if we could meet later in the day. I said, yes, but when I was able to do so.

I met with them again for another 5 hours that afternoon. I ended up speaking with them five days in a row for 4-5 hours at a time. Finally, they had to catch a bus back to Atlanta Georgia.

I don’t know how or why they picked me out of a crowd nor why they were so interested in what I had to say. They asked me hundreds of questions! I later learned that they had been homosexual lovers and that they decided to go straight.

I was informed that they had decided to return to the Church! I also was informed that one of them had been diagnosed with AIDS and was accepting responsibility for his actions.

I was further informed that this same individual went to a Catholic Charismatic prayer service and members laid hands on him. He explained that he received warmth throughout his body. He has since, tested negative on his HIV test. That’s after having a positive test and a confirmation test!

The Catholic Church has no power to change or alter the Natural Law of God. We use to say, “Love the sinner, but hate the sin” but now we are moving towards a direction that will ultimately clash as Christian values continue to be swept under the rug.

By January 2010, I learned from our Brigade Chaplain that the Homosexual-Gay Activist had already approached the Military Chaplaincy.  They were telling them that they will have to modify what they preach from the pulpit.

This was exactly the plan of the Democratic Party once they held all the power in Washington.  The Progressives had affectively eroded American values low enough that people didn’t care.

That does not abode well with me. Our liberty is being threatened and people continue to roll with the tide, and I do not mean Alabama!

The Catholic Defender: The A&E Boycott

Posted by John Benko - December 19th, 2013

As of this time I am beginning my personal boycott against A&E until  “Duck Dynasty” star Phil Robertson is returned to the show.

He is being targeted because of his Christian beliefs which teaches that the practice of homosexuality is a sin.

The Magazine GQ’s Drew Magary interviewed Phil Robertson and asked him about homosexuality.

Because he responded from a Christian perspective which he implied homosexuality was sinful in the same sense as “Bestiality, sleeping around with this woman and that woman and that woman and those men. Don’t be deceived. Neither the adulterers, the idolaters, the male prostitutes, the homosexual offenders, the greedy, the drunkards, the slanderers, the swindlers — they won’t inherit the kingdom of God. Don’t deceive yourself. It’s not right.”

I myself have refereed homosexual behavior as sin no less or no more than adultery, fornication, or any other sexual deviancy.  This is what the liberal media does, they ask questions hoping to stump those who are known as Christians and twist their words.  We have seen recently the same situation with the Pope Francis interviews.

A&E made this statement:  “We are extremely disappointed to have read Phil Robertson’s comments in GQ, which are based on his own personal beliefs and are not reflected in the series ‘Duck Dynasty.’ His personal views in no way reflect those of A&E Networks, who have always been strong supporters and champions of the LGBT community. The networks has placed Phil under hiatus from filming indefinitely.”

(Why would GQ Magazine’s interviewer (Drew Magary) ask Mr. Robertson about Homosexuality in the first place? A&E didn’t need to respond here as the question and answer had nothing to do with “Duck Dynasty or A&E? Would A&E respond in the same way if the interview were being conducted by a Christian source? Is A&E basically saying that Phil Robertson could not speak publicly WHEN ASKED by any source?)

This is an issue of religious freedom and the right of free speech.! Pure and simple.  The Gay and Lesbian Task Force is really the intolerant ones.

What A&E found so offensive was that Phil Robertson remarked that “homosexual offenders” would not “inherit the Kingdom of God.”  He also states, “But hey, sin: It’s not logical, my man,” He repeats, “It’s just not logical.”

1 Timothy 1:8-11 states, “We know that the law is good, provided that one uses it as law, with the understanding that the law is meant not for a righteous person but for the lawless and unruly, the godless and the sinful, the unholy and profane, those who kill their fathers or mothers, murderers, the unchaste, sodomites (homosexuals), kidnappers, liars, perjurers, and whatever else is opposed to sound teaching, according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, with which I have been entrusted”.

What Phil Robertson was defending was the teaching of the Church.

Galatians 5:21 St. Paul states, “I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God”.

Phil Robertson stated, “Everything is blurred on what’s right and what’s wrong.  That is the tactic of the progressive left.  Isaiah 5:20 states, “Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness; Who substitute bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!

With the current oppression of Christian beliefs by the liberal media, we are seeing a systematic breakdown of society.

The Gay Agenda attacks people of faith calling opposition to homosexual acts as hate speech.

Bernard Whitman, an analysis for Fox News, appeared on “The Kelly File” and defends a man’s right to love another man, (he claimed to be Jewish and Gay)? That is an oxymoron, that is incomparable.  He called Phil Robertson’s comments as hate speech because he implies homosexuality as sin.

It is getting more and more frustrating that the Christian voice is getting silenced and the left-far progressives are coming out with all authority of the State to lash out against Christians.  I have personally seen first hand progressives attacking Christians in the College classroom.  We are seeing the dismantle-ling of the Military who are now persecuting Christians who regard homosexuality as sinful.

The Bible and Church teaching is being silenced from being aired in the press and national television.

If the Media is so offended because of statements made in an interview, especially on homosexuality,  then don’t ask them about that issue! The real issue is that the progressives are out to attack people of faith.  That is the bottom line.

Notice in this report by CNN, how they give the Gay Agenda telling Christians they have to get in line to accept Gay sex. Is the Country changing? Are we that far gone? Heaven help us if that would be true. Does only 44% of Americans oppose homosexual behavior? I do not believe that the United States of America is that left of center. This is the goal of public school educators for years, to challenge our Christian foundations. We need to pray for our country.

The Catholic Defender: Gays in the Military

Posted by John Benko - August 17th, 2013

The past three decades the pro-homosexual agenda has been to gain total acceptance in American society.

Through the Democratic Party they have worked hard in getting this through.

The Log Cabin Republicans, though small in number, strives to exert political influence.

Despite all this the vast majority of Americans oppose the Gay Agenda“.

This battle became nation wide in 1993 when then President Clinton wanted to end the Military’s ban on Homosexual behavior. At that time the reaction from across the Country was strongly opposed to the plan.

So much so President Clinton tabled the plan for 6 months until the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy was adopted.

I remember at Fort Campbell Kentucky, there were a series of Marches against Gays in the Military right outside the Army Post. This was covered exclusively by the local and national media.

The Gay Agenda continued to work through the media, higher places of learning, and the Democratic Party.

The Secularization of our School system continues to push the limits working to change children from their parents and lead them away from their faith.

Currently, Fox News have been reporting all day that Defense Secretary, Robert Gates is willing to grant Homosexuals free reign in the Military.

This would be a huge mistake. The various issues that concern me are as follows:

1. The Chaplains would have to modify what they preached from the pulpit. This would be the first time that I am aware of that a Religious body would be forced to succumb to the State since the Catholic Bishops succumbed to King Henry VIII in 1534. Certainly, this would be the first time in American History, Congress authorized a Chaplain for every regiment on July 29, 1775. Incidentally, Congress appointed Colonel William Tudor as the first Judge Advocate and the Judge Advocate General Corps this very session.

2. The persecution of Christians would become more and more apparent inside the Military. To this point, I have had a number of encounters with Equal Opportunity Representatives from Battalion and Brigade level elements that would enforce projected UCMJ regulations. This would mean that if a Christian Soldier would infer that practicing Homosexuality is a sin, that could be an EO complaint. Practicing Christianity and practicing Homosexuality cannot co-exist.

3. There would be a severe hostility of the “open” Homosexual specifically in the Combat Arms section of the Military. Those specifically out serving at the Tip of the Spear. The Military should not be the ground bed of social engineering. The reason the Pro-Homosexual camps want this in the Military, they feel that the rest of society would soon follow.

4. Despite representing about 2-3% of the American culture, the Homosexual represents between 50 to 90% of all AIDS cases diagnosed. That would present a high volume of STD and other diseases that would shake an extended health care system.

5. Morale would become an all-time low if the Homosexual is allowed to openly serve. There is no real way to accommodate the situation for full integration.

6. Many seasoned leaders will have difficulty leading troops into battle, several will be forced out if they do not comply to the proposed UCMJ Standard. Recruiting of quality Soldiers would decrease as many would not consider the Military a volunteer option, especially if they are practicing Christians.

7. The rejection of the Sovereignty of God and the imposition of the authority of man. That really says it all. Not long ago, I was able to bring John Michael Talbot for two nights of awesome concerts and ministry at Fort Hood. Fort Hood’s MWR and Public Affair’s office refused to help us promote this for the Soldiers and their families on post because John is a professing Christian. If he would have been Mick Jaggar they would have been all over themselves. This will get worse under the proposed policy.

The Military does not have the ability to defend itself against a liberal attack or policy.

They are totally dependent upon the advocates for the Military to speak up.

Defense Secretary Gates will take a one-sided study to make a decision he was prepared to enact months ago.
The truth is the vast majority of the Military do not think Gays in the Military is a good thing.

Do you let them shower with the females? Do you let them shower with the males? Do you recognize “married” homosexual relationships using on post housing privileges?

Do Homosexuals have the right to adopt children using the DoD School system?

I retired from the Army after 26 years of Military service.

The Catholic Defender: Pope Francis on Homosexuality

Posted by John Benko - July 31st, 2013

Recently, as Pope Francis was flying from Brazil after a victorious World Youth Day week event, he was asked a question on homosexuality.

The Pope responded saying, “The problem is not having this orientation, it is lobbying,” he said. “That’s the most serious problem I think.
“If someone is gay and seeks the Lord with good will, who am I to judge?”

The media’s take went on all the major news outlets reporting that the Pope was changing the Church’s position.  When I first heard this the first thing I was thinking was “why”? Why say something that the media would certainly take out of context?

This is how the media reacts wanting to make the news.  Remember the media’s response to Pope John Paul II when he spoke on evolution? It was like evolution had become an accepted theory in the Catholic Church.  There is the difference between Macro and Micro evolution but that was not reported by the media.

The liberals and modernist had a field day causing confusion on the truth of what the Pope really was saying and what the Catholic Church really maintains.

The liberal media ran with the story with an agenda to further the aims of liberalism and modernism.

Was the six days of creation an actual 24 hour day, or is this a process that took thousands of years?   That is a great question and the Pope basically said that as a Catholic, either perspective would not change the biblical text or the truth based there.

Why are environments around the world different? What are American men generally larger than men from other societies?  That is a great question!

What about the animal world, what impact does cross breeding have? These are all good questions that speak to the positive changes in society.  This is known as “Micro” evolution and this is the basis of Pope John Paul II’s statement on evolution.

We know that diet, cross breeding, environment does play of role in how people are different.  The theory of Macro evolution and Orthodox Christianity will not be able to agree on major points and foundations of belief’s.

Consider what Pope Francis was saying on Homosexuality.  The Liberal media is doing it again.  They are running an agenda to cause confusion.  I want to break this down on what the Pope was saying.

Pope Francis said, “The problem is not having this orientation, it is lobbying,” he said. “That’s the most serious problem I think.

The Pope is not saying anything new here.  The Catholic Catechism (2358) states, “The number of men and women who have deep-seated homosexual tendencies is not negligible.  The inclination, which is objectively disordered, constitutes for most of them a trial.  They must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity.  Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided.  These persons are called to fulfill God’s will in their lives and, if they are Christians, to unite to the sacrifice of the Lord’s Cross the difficulties they may encounter from their condition”.

This is the foundation from which Pope Francis was speaking from.  Jesus says something I think is important to this discussion.  Jesus states, “Some are incapable of marriage because they were born so; some, because they were made so by others; some, because they have renounced marriage for the sake of the kingdom of heaven.  Whoever can accept this ought to accept it”.  Matthew 19:12)

Notice that Jesus recognized that some are born incapable of marriage.  Jesus would not accept “Gay Marriage”.  The Catholic Catechism (2359) continues, “Homosexual persons are called to chastity.  By virtues of self-mastery that teach them inner freedom, at times by the support of disinterested friendship, by prayer and sacramental grace, they can and should gradually and resolutely approach Christian perfection.”

Homosexual persons are called to chastity and  holiness.  So when the Pope says that the problem is not having “this orientation” the problem is lobbying for it.  That is to justify the acts of homosexuality which is the agenda of the liberal progressive.  St. Paul warns about this saying, “Although they know the just decree of God that all who PRACTICE such things deserve death, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them”.  (Romans 1:32)

I have seen this reported on the news and the majority of the news are left leaning liberals who welcome progressive change.   The Pope continued saying, If someone is gay and seeks the Lord with good will, who am I to judge?”

Again, this can only be understood from the Catholic Catechism that is outlined specifically that homosexual persons are to be treated with respect.  They are not to be discriminated against.  That is not to endorse a sinful lifestyle.  It is not reducing a sin to a personal right.  It is a recognition that people have this inclination and who are we to judge a disorder? To judge an inclination? We are to be compassionate to all people.

If a homosexual is seeking the Lord with good will, we are to welcome them into the Church.  Before writing this article, I stumbled on a “Gay” Catholic Priest who is hoping that this will encourage more priests to come out of the closet.  This is very dangerous.  The Gay Agenda is to gain acceptance in every part of society.  The Catholic Church stands in the way of this agenda.

A Priest who is encouraging other priests to participate in homosexual sexual encounters is a scandal that cries out to heaven.  The Virgin Mary warns that more souls go to hell because of the sins of the flesh than any other reason.  There is a blindness to this by those who have a terrible agenda.

Saint John Eudes said that when God is angry with His people, He sends them bad priests as a chastisement.  Here is what he wrote in his book, The Priest, His Dignity and Obligations:

“The most evident mark of God’s anger and the most terrible castigation He can inflict upon the world are manifested when He permits His people to fall into the hands of clergy who are priests more in name than in deed, priests who practice the cruelty of ravening wolves rather than charity and affection of devoted shepherds …

“When God permits such things, it is a very positive proof that He is thoroughly angry with His people, and is visiting His most dreadful anger upon them. That is why He cries unceasingly to Christians, ‘Return O ye revolting children … and I will give you pastors according to My own heart’. (Jer. 3:14,15) Thus, irregularities in the lives of priests constitute a scourge upon the people in consequence of sin.”

O Jesus, our great High Priest, hear my humble prayers on behalf of your priests.  Give them a deep faith, a bright and firm hope and a burning love which will ever increase in the course of their priestly life.
In their loneliness, comfort them.  In their sorrows, strengthen them.  In their frustrations, point out to them that it is through suffering that the soul is purified, and show them that they are needed by the Church; they are needed by souls; they are needed for the work of redemption.

*BEST OF DTB #134* The Catholic defender: State of Grace

Posted by John Benko - January 29th, 2012

My hats off to the Catholic Priesthood that refuses to give Holy Communion to practicing homosexuals! The following is a report from the Chicago AP: CHICAGO (AP) – Roman Catholic gay-rights supporters wearing rainbow-colored sashes to Mass were denied communion Sunday, while dozens in Minnesota had to walk around protesters to receive the holy sacrament.

About 10 people wearing the sashes stood in line to receive communion at Holy Name Cathedral in Chicago, but priests refused to give them the Eucharist. One priest shook each person’s hand; another made the sign of the cross on their foreheads.

“The priest told me you cannot receive communion if you’re wearing a sash, as per the Cardinal’s direction,” said James Luxton, a Chicago member of the Rainbow Sash Movement, an organization of Catholic gay-rights supporters with chapters around the country.

An internal memo from Chicago Cardinal Francis George that became public last week instructed priests not to give communion to people wearing the sashes, which the group’s members wear every year for Pentecost. The memo says the sashes are a symbol of opposition to the church’s doctrine on homosexuality and exploit the communion ritual.

“The Rainbow Sash movement wants its members to be fully accepted by the Church not on the same conditions as any Catholic but precisely as gay,” George wrote. “With this comes the requirement that the Church change her moral teaching.”

Rainbow Sash Movement spokesman Joe Murray was among those denied communion in Chicago. He said members wearing the sashes should be seen no differently than a uniformed police officer or Boy Scout seeking communion.

“What we saw today in the cathedral is discrimination at the Eucharistic table, and that shouldn’t be happening,” Murray said. Those denied communion returned to their pews, but stood while the rest of the congregation knelt.

The movement, which started about five years ago in England, also has members in Dallas, New Orleans, New York and Rochester, N.Y.

In St. Paul, Minn., people wearing the rainbow-colored sashes were given communion Sunday despite protests from some parishioners who kneeled in front of the altar blocking their way.

The Rev. Michael Skluzacek said in a written statement that both sides were “mistakenly using the Mass and the Eucharist to make their own personal statements.”

Brian McNeill, organizer of the Rainbow Sash Alliance of the Twin Cities, said the local group has worn the sashes every Pentecost at St. Paul Cathedral since 2001, but the group had never experienced such a confrontation.

The Rainbow Sash Movement received an e-mail Tuesday from the Los Angeles Archdiocese inviting them to Mass on Sunday, but no one wearing sashes showed up for morning or midday Masses at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels, archdiocese spokesman Tod Tamberg said.

A Vatican doctrinal decree last year directed at Catholic politicians said a well-formed conscience forbids support for any law that contradicts “fundamental” morality, with abortion listed first among relevant issues. A second Vatican statement said it is “gravely immoral” not to oppose legalization of same-sex unions.

CFPA: Thank God the church is taking this stand. We only wish that all of those Catholics practicing homosexuality would wear that sash every time they go to Communion.

St. Paul writes, “Therefore, my beloved, avoid idolatry. I am speaking as to sensible people; judge for yourselves what I am saying. The cup of blessing that we bless, is it not a participation in the blood of Christ? The bread that we break, is it not a participation in the body of Christ? Because the loaf of bread is one, we, though many, are one body, for we all partake of the one loaf” (1 Corinthians 10:14-17).

St. Paul is clear that we are all part of the body of Christ and this is seen through the breaking of the bread. If anyone is living in sin, serious sin, they are warned of the gravity of recieving the Eucharist unworthily.

Concerning idolatry, St. Paul warns, “You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and also the cup of demons. You cannot partake of the table of the Lord and of the table of demons” (1 Corinthians 10:21).

St. Paul makes it even more clear writing, “For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the death of the Lord until he comes. Therefore whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord unworthily will have to answer for the body and blood of the Lord. A person should examine himself, and so eat the bread and drink the cup. For anyone who eats and drinks without discerning the body, eats and drinks judgment on himself. That is why many among you are ill and infirm, and a considerable number are dying” (1 Corinthian 11:26-30).

We are not to recieve God’s grace in vain (2 Corinthians 6:1) and to avoid mortal serous sin (Galations 5:19-21). We need to pray for our leaders (Hebrew 13:18-19) that they will be strong in their leadership (1 Peter 5:1-5).

We also need to pray for those who are wayward, running from their faith.

The Prodigals need to come home to the Catholic Faith where they can get that total healing of mind, body, and soul, and spirit.

*BEST OF DTB #48* The Catholic Defender: Rise of the Fatherless

Posted by John Benko - January 16th, 2011

“For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that he may grant you in accord with the riches of his glory to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in the inner self, and that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the holy ones what is the breath and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God” (Ephesians 3:14-19).

In the United States between 1960 – 1990, children being raised without fathers went from 17% to 36%, by the year 2,000, nearly 50% of all children are being raised without their fathers.

The days of “Leave It To Beaver”, “My Three Son’s”, and “Father Knows Best” have long been gone.

The average father was reported to spend about 7 seconds a day with their children. The spiritual and moral leadership is not present.

Marriage is the divine institution created by God for which children are to be raised. Rebellion has had it’s price.

The results are staggering. The rise in drugs and alcohol use, gang violence, disregard for authority and the value of human life has become the trend. Pornography and abortion plague our nation both being multi-billion dollar industries.

This seriously impact society and culture. It impacts girls being raised without fathers.

It impacts Black families, nearly 70% are being raised without a father. There is a rise in premarital relations and children being born in a one parent family.

You have the case of “dead-beat dads” who can care less about their children. Then you have fathers who have no control for their children because mom’s and other family members make it impossible.

With the return of ancient Paganism and hedonism, the very fabric of society is being distorted as the family unit is being changed to recognize homosexual unions and transgendered relationships causing confusion at the Government’s expense.

Children are commanded to “obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. Honor your father and mother. This is the first commandment with a promise, that it may go well with you and that you may have a long life on earth” (Ephesians 5:1-3).

Pope Pius XII warned the world in 1950 at the canonization of St. Maria Goretti that to be a Christian in the latter half of the 20th century and beyond you would have to be a living martyr. The attack on the family would become so great. His words were prophetic.

The divorce rate has had a dramatic impact on the American Family. Let us pray for the return of God in our Country, that He will restore common sense and heal our land (2 Chronicles 7:14). The following Statistics come from “Teens and Toddlers: children without fathers”:

- 63% of youth suicides are from fatherless homes (US Dept. Of Health/Census) – 5 times
the average.

- 90% of all homeless and runaway children are from fatherless homes – 32 times the average.
- 85% of all children who show behavior disorders come from fatherless homes – 20 times the average. (Center for Disease Control)
- 80% of rapists with anger problems come from fatherless homes –14 times the average. (Justice & Behavior, Vol 14, p. 403-26)
- 71% of all high school dropouts come from fatherless homes – 9 times the average. (National Principals Association Report)
- 75% of all adolescent patients in chemical abuse centers come from fatherless homes – 10 times the average. (Rainbows for All God’s Children)
- 70% of youths in state-operated institutions come from fatherless homes – 9 times the average. (U.S. Dept. of Justice, Sept. 1988)
- 85% of all youths in prison come from fatherless homes – 20 times the average. (Fulton Co. Georgia, Texas Dept. of Correction)
