The Catholic Defender: He Will Come Again In Glory To Judge The Living And The Dead

Posted by Donald Hartley - May 8th, 2016

judge 1At the end of time when the Lord Jesus Christ returns, he will judge the living and the dead. We will all have to face this judgment.

Psalms 1:1-6 states, “Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by the streams of water, that yield its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers. The wicked are not so, but are like chaff which the wind drives away. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor the sinners in the congregation of the righteous; for the Lord knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish”.

I have heard many times people quoting Matthew 7:2, “Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and the measure you give will be the measure you get”.

judge 2

Instead of this being a verse of warning to those who “judge”, it becomes for many a scapegoat or license to sin.

When you present something clearly shown in the scripture as sin, the response is “Do not Judge”. There is a fine line between judging a person to hell, from judging what is right and wrong in a person’s life.

If the people of Nineveh would have told Jonah not to “judge” them, they would have been destroyed.

In fact, in the Old Testament the prophets were killed by the people because they spoke the Word of God and the people rebelled.

The real purpose of this writing is more for self inventory, we need to look at ourselves and see how we measure up to the teaching of Christ.

judge 3We know there is a “Personal Judgment” when a person dies and then there will be the “General Judgment” at the Parousia when Jesus returns at the end of time.

Jesus states, “You have heard that it was said to the men of old, ‘You shall not kill; and whoesoever kills shall be liable to judgment’. But I say to you that every one who is angry with his brother shall be liable to judgment; whoever insults his brother shall be liable to the council, and whoever says, ‘You fool!’ shall be liable to the hell of fire. So if you are offering your gift at the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there before the altar and go; first be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift”.

From this scripture, it is a judgment of the heart. We must work towards forgiveness and that is not always easy. We must condition ourselves as this requires work. It requires surrender to God’s will, it requires our readiness to serve God with a clean heart. An upright heart. It is a condition of the heart.

What are going to be some issues that will bring down judgment?

Matthew 10:12-15 states, “As you enter the house, salute it. And if the house is worthy, let your peace come upon it; but if it is not worthy, let your peace return to you. And if any one will not receive you or listen to your words, shake off the dust from your feet as you leave that house or town. Truly, I say to you, it shall be more tolerable on the day of judgment for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah than for that town”.

What is the meaning here? It is obvious that judgment will be more severe for those who have more opportunity to hear and see the truth.

judge 4The more that a person is given the more accountability there will be. Jesus teaches this point very clearly Matthew 12:38-42, “Then some of the scribes and Pharisees said to him, ‘Teacher, we wish to see a sign from you’. But he answered them,’An evil and adulterous generation seeks for a sign; but no sign shall be given to it except the sign of the prophet Johah. For as Jonah was three days and three night in the belly of the whale, so will the Son of Man be three days and three night in the heart of the earth. The men of Nineveh will arise at the judgment with this generation and condemn it; for they repented at the preaching of Jonah, and behold, something greater than Jonah is here. The queen of the South will arise at the judgment with this generation and condemn it; for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and behold, something greater than Solomon is here”.

We have the revelation of Jesus Christ and his Catholic Church which is the voice of the Lord until Jesus returns.

judge 5The Catholic Church is graced with many signs and wonders of the Lord Jesus Christ for the sake of his people, the Church.

Even so, many will refuse to obey the Church? People will not obey the Word of the Lord. Many will reject the works of the Lord,

Matthew 11:20-21 states, “Then he began to upbraid the cities where most of his mighty works had been done, because they did not repent. Woe to you Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works done in you had been in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes”.

I have more than once been told that someone would not believe unless Mother Mary would appear to them. They have abandoned Christianity for secular science.

In the last times a great deception would challenge many people to fall from their Faith. No question about it, secular humanism has had a terrible impact on our society and judgment is coming.

judge 6St. Peter warns about this scurge saying, “First of all you must understand this, that scoffers will come in the last days with scoffing, following their own passions and saying, ‘Where is the promise of his coming” (2 Peter 3:3-4)?

The signs of the Lord are many, Marian Apparitions, Eucharistic Miracles, the Incorruptibles, Healings, and many many more.

We live in a perverse generation where children learn to imitate the foul language of their parents, the media in movies and music.

Rebellion is everywhere. Jesus warns of this Matthew 12:36-37, “I tell you, on the day of judgment men will render account for every careless word they utter; for by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned”.

Foul language is condemned in the scripture.

judge 7St. Paul states, “Let no evil talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for edifying, as fits the occasion, that it impart grace to those who hear” (Ephesians 4:29).

Out of the heart, the mouth speaks! It is still a condition of the heart.

There are some serious signs that need to be understood as terrible reasons for judgment.

Apostasy is a very serious sin. St. John states, “Children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the anti-christ is coming, so now many anti-christs have come; therefore we know that it is the last hour. They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us; but they went out, that they all are not of us” (1 John 2:18-20).

Today, there are many millions of fallen away Catholics representing the second largest religious body second to only the Catholic Church.

judge 8Hosea 4:6 states, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge; because you have rejected knowledge, I reject you from being a priest to me. And since you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children”.

I had given a talk in Nothern Texas when I asked the people present if they knew of family members or friends who had abandoned the Catholic Faith. Practically everyone without exception raised their hands.

If I was to look at this as a disease, it would be an epidemic.

James 5:19-20 states, “My brethren, if any one among you wanders from the truth and some one brings him back, let him know that whoever brings back a sinner from the error of his way will save his soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins”.

judge 9The Prodigal Son who returns to the fold can be totally restored to the Church. The Lord would leave the 99 to find the one who had gone astray.

Sin has it’s consequences, especially if they are not confessed. There are Mortal sins and Venial Sins which all lead to death. Mortal sins being serious or damnable. There are the 7 deadly sins (wrath, greed, sloth, pride, lust, envy, and gluttony).

Galatians 5:19-21 states, “Now the works of the flesh are plain: immorality, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, anger, selfishness, dissension, pary spirit, envy, drunkenness, corousing, and the like. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God”.

There is so much regarding warning to include those who are faithless, disobedience, traitors, apathetic, faithless and filled with heresy.

judge 10St. John states, “By this we know that we love the children of God. when we love God and obey his commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome” 1 John 5:2-3).

Jesus will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead. We will all be held accountable for the works we did. Our faithfulness to our Lord.

St. John is given a glimpse of of what heaven will be like for those whose judgment brings them home:

judge 11“And I saw no temple in the city, for its temple is the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb. And the city has no need of sun or moon to shine upon it, for the glory of God is its light, and its lamp is the Lamb. By its light shall the nations walk; and the kings of the earth shall bring their glory into it, and its gates shall never be shut by day and there shall be no night there; they shall bring into it the glory and the honor of the nations. But nothing unclean shall enter it, nor any one who practices abomination or falsehood, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s book of life” (Revelation 21:22-27).

The Catholic Defender: By your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.”

Posted by Donald Hartley - July 20th, 2015

AIR-POLLUTIONThere is pollution in the air that is effecting the hearts and minds of many people all over the world. Children often are the target of much of the pollution taking place which is seated in the deepest recesses of the heart. Rebellion digs deep into the soul when it turns away from God for the beautiful side of evil.

Unfortunately, we are seeing people who purposefully hack into family oriented websites with a Christian base throwing their porn of words and or pictures on the internet. Please pray for these people who seek to hurt children who pervert their minds, hearts, and bodies with their pollution.

Ephesians 5:1-5 says, “So be imitators of God, as beloved children, and live in love, as Christ loved us and handed himself over for us as a sacrificial offering to God for a fragrant aroma. Immorality or any impurity or greed must not even be mentioned among you, as is fitting among the holy ones, no obscenity or silly or suggestive talk, which is out of place, but instead, thanksgiving. Be sure of this, that no immoral or impure or greedy person, that is, an idolator, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God”.

Mortal_Sin_-_Face_Of_DespairSt. Paul takes this deeper writing to the Galatians 5:16-21, “I say, then: live by the Spirit and you will certainly not gratify the desire of the flesh. For the flesh has desires against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; these are opposed to each other, so that you may not do what you want. But if you are guided by the Spirit, you are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are obvious: immorality, impurity, licentiousness, idolatry, sorcery, hatreds, rivalry, jealousy, outbursts of fury, acts of selfishness, dissensions, factions, occasions of envy, drinking bouts, orgies, and the like. I warned you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God”.

St. John 5:16-17, refers to these as “deadly sins” from which the Catholic Church calls “Mortal Sins”. St. John states, “If anyone sees his brother sinning, if the sin is not deadly, he should pray to God and he will give life. This is only for those whose sin is not deadly. There is such a thing as deadly sin, about which I do not say that you should pray. All wrong doing is sin, but there is sin that is not deadly.”

When St. Paul speaks about sin that will prevent a person any “inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God” that is a mortal sin.”

Consider Jesus (Matthew 12:36-37) clear warning. “I tell you, on the day of judgment people will render an account for every careless word they speak. By your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.”

Basically, the Lord is saying, out of the heart, the mouth speaks. I will say, garbage in, garbage out. It does matter what a person accepts and brings in. The sad thing is that many are being raised by this standard from their own parents. Children will imitate whom they admire and grow into what they imitate.

imagesJesus gives a clear warning on this as well, Matthew 18:6 says, “Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a great millstone hung around his neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea. Woe to the world because of things that case sin! Such things must come, but woe to the one through whom they come!”

How sad it is when it is from the parents that a child learns to sin. It is especially important that Fathers lead by example, the good things of God.

Consider Colossians 3:5-8, “Put to death, then, the parts of you that are earthly: immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and the greed that is idolatry. Because of these the wrath of God is coming upon the disobedient. By these you too once conducted yourselves, when you lived in that way. But now you must put them all away: anger, fury, malice, slander, and obscene language out of your mouths.”

Ephesians 4:29 states, No foul language should come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for needed edification, that it may impart grace to those who hear.”

Is there a constant theme in all this? It is clear that we must reform our lives and transform our lives to the way of the Lord. The Church calls us to constant conversion. Bad habits is a choice, it is important to see yourself as a work in progress and work on cleaning yourself up. To cooperate with the work of the Holy Spirit implanted in your life through Baptism and Confirmation.

Hebrews 13:1-2 states, “Let mutual love continue. Do not neglect hospitality, for through it some have unknowingly entertained angels”. When I see a small child, what an opportunity for God’s grace and yes, God’s angels are present! Which leads to another warning of Jesus. Matthew 18:1-5 states, “At that time the disciples approached Jesus and said, ‘Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?’ He called a child over, placed it in their midst, and said, ‘Amen, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven. Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever receives one child such as this in my name receives me.” Jesus would continue, “See that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that their angels in heaven always look upon the face of my heavenly Father.”.

sodoma_angelsConsider the Angels at Sodom to get Lot and his family out of the city, do we respect the messengers of God or do we cry out for evil upon them?

How terrible it is to teach a child to sin, and there is great evil out there. Just this morning, I was at the Thomas Moore Troop Medical Clinic and CNN was talking favorably of a singing artist who has a song about a man with a love for another man. How terrible this is and woe to those who promote this kind of sin and place it in the hearts and minds of the young.

The Culture of Death is far more reaching than abortion and the killing of innocent human beings. It is also anything that leads to death.

The Talking Dead is very dangerous because they seek only selfish desires from the recesses of their heart.

1 Samuel 15:23 states, “For a sin like divination is rebellion, and presumption is the crime of idolatry. Because you have rejected the command of the Lord, he too, has rejected you…” Romans 1:32 echos all of the above saying, “Although they know the just decree of God that all who practice such things deserve death, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them.”

Hosea 4:6 warns, “My people perish for want of knowledge! Since you have rejected knowledge, I will reject you from my priesthood; Since you have ignored the law of your God, I will also ignore your sons.”

That is scary, I do not want the Lord to ignore my Sons and Daughter, not at all.

20131021_ArianneSegerman_WaitingattheoceanIf we think about it, hopefully, none of us would. By virtue of your baptism and confirmation, you can truly echo Isaiah, “The spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me; He has sent me to bring glad tidings to the lowly, to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and release to the prisoners, to announce a year of favor from the Lord and a day of vindication by our God…”

The Catholic Church is celebrating this liturgical year, “Consecration” to inspire strong faith in an increasingly faithless world, to inspire the Faith for the world, to inspire love in a fallen world.

Principally, we are typically known for what we say, for what we do, and for what we love.  Father Kevin Drew of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Trenton Missouri, gives a great homily why our Shepherds should match their words with their deeds:

“Woe to the shepherds who mislead and scatter the flock of my pasture … You have scattered my sheep and driven them away.

That’s Jeremiah the prophet writing in Jerusalem about 600 years before Christ, a particularly evil time in Jewish history.  King, priest and people had become more interested in politics than God.  All sorts of abuses took place in and around the temple, which was run more like a business than a place of worship.

indexDue to their disloyalty to God, Jeremiah told the Chosen People that their city and temple would be destroyed, and they’d be exiled to Babylon.  So, Jeremiah wasn’t very popular.  He actually ended up being murdered by his own people.

Jeremiah took special aim at the leaders, the shepherds: You have not cared for them, but I will take care to punish your evil deeds.  What was the problem?  Were these shepherds mean or cruel; too authoritarian?  The text doesn’t say that.  It just says they “misled and scattered the flock.”

Maybe the rulers and the priests were nice guys.  Maybe people liked them because they never challenged anybody by teaching the truths of the faith.  Perhaps that was their business model that assured an uninterrupted stream of money flowed into the temple.  So everyone was happy; the people were comfortable in their sin, and the leaders led pretty easy lives.

Teaching the truths of the faith.  The Code of Canon (Church) Law states, “By Divine institution bishops are constituted pastors in the Church, to be teachers of doctrine, the priests of sacred worship, and the ministers of governance.” (375.1)  “Divine institution” means it comes from God.  It’s right there in the last sentence of Matthew’s gospel.  Christ says:  Teach them to observe everything I commanded you.  A key word there is everything; not just the things people want to hear.  Shepherds seeking popularity of course fail to do that.  Due to their lack of courage their flock becomes indifferent and scatters.

BOB.v17-42.Jul23.Last_.CorbisThis is being played out in a tragic way right in our own time.  We’re living through a sexual revolution that has turned morality on its head.  And the modern Church, wanting to be popular and accepted, has gotten in bed with the culture; just like they did in Jeremiah’s time.  Now look what’s happened to us:  Forty million Americans are now former Catholics.  For every one person that comes into the Church, ten leave.  Catholic schools and parishes are closing all across the country, because there’s no children to put in them.  Two “Catholic” Supreme Court justices recently broke with all legal precedent, human ethics and history to inflict on us the absurdity of “same-sex marriage.”  The legal, financial and social ramifications of this will be brutal.

So there it is.  When we run with the pagans, when we love the world more than God, the world will swallow us up.  Christ’s command of course was to be in the world but not of it.  He said to hate the world, which means to love him first, to keep his commands, all of them.  Otherwise we exile ourselves.  But though we walk in a dark valley we will fear no evil, for our shepherd will bring us to the right path.  King David, who was a huge sinner, wrote that.  And Jeremiah promised the true shepherd would come from David’s branch.  And there the shepherd was, 600 years later, living and preaching on the Sea of Galilee.

In today’s passage the Apostles return from their mission to headquarters in Capernaum, on the northwest shore of the lake.  They’re tired and hungry so Christ gets them in a boat and they head to a deserted spot on the eastern shore.  But the people watch, and then run across the northern shore of the lake.  They beat the boat to the deserted spot, so it’s no longer deserted when Christ comes ashore.  But Christ doesn’t send them away.  Instead he begins to teach.  You see, he has pity on them, because they look like lost sheep.

AP_vatican_popes_canonization_jt_140427_16x9_992Now, listen to Jeremiah again:  The true shepherd will gather a small remnant of the flock, and bring them back to the meadow.  They’ll multiply and he’ll appoint shepherds to watch and care for them.  These would be bishops, with headquarters not in Capernaum, but in Rome, the city to which all roads lead.  You see, we need bishops to teach, to pastor, and to govern the flock.  This is the “business model” Christ put in place.

To deny the authority of our bishops is to become Protestant.  When the Protestants revolted 500 years ago they claimed they just needed a bible and faith.  So what has happened?  They’ve all become their own bishop.  In the end they give final authority to themselves.  As a consequence there are now something like 40,000 different Protestant sects and we live in a world of relativism, where sheep without a shepherd make up their own truth.  Now what kind of business model is that?  Is everyone the boss at your place of employment?  Or is there hierarchy; is there order?  Does your child’s ball team have a coach?  Or does your child just need a ball bat and faith?

People want the Church to be more like a business; one that will adapt with the times and supply the market with what it demands.  There’s nothing original in this.  That’s what they did in Jeremiah’s time — and we see how well that worked out.  That’s what the Protestants have done, and what some in the Church want us to do.  The problem is that the Church is not a business.  It is the instrument started by Christ to bring us to the truth.  And the truth doesn’t change with the times.  The truth is the truth, regardless of markets.  Whether everyone’s buying it or no one is buying it, the truth remains.

cross-water-bloodHere’s the truth:  Christ wasn’t very popular and he ended up being murdered by his own people, who represent us.  It was our sins that nailed Christ to the cross.  But look at his business model:  An uninterrupted stream of mercy flows from the true temple, from Christ’s pierced side.  It flows down on us at every Mass.  This doesn’t change, because Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

So take heart.  All those lost sheep on the shore in today’s gospel weren’t saints.  And yet Christ had compassion on them.  Christ has compassion on us, because he came to call sinners.  It doesn’t matter how far one has strayed because no sin is bigger than God’s mercy.  So don’t stay comfortable in your sin.  Go to Confession and make things right.  Confession is your guarantee of forgiveness.  Call out to your true shepherd, “the Lord our justice,” and he will bring you back to the right path; the path that leads to the truth, who is Christ.”

Jesus said, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life…” We Do well by following what the Lord has GIVEN us, He gave us the WAY, we have the Truth, that gives us His LIFE.

Let us aspire to the true gifts of God, “The spirit of the Lord shall rest upon you, a spirit of wisdom and of understanding, a spirit of counsel and of strength, a spirit of knowledge and fear of the Lord.” Let us seek out the higher gifts of God!

O my God, I firmly believe that you are one God in three divine Persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. I believe that your divine Son became man and died for our sins and that he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe these and all the truths which the Holy Catholic Church teaches because you have revealed them who are eternal truth and wisdom, who can neither deceive nor be deceived. In this faith I intend to live and die. Amen.

The Catholic Defender: The Four Last Things Part 3, Hell

Posted by Donald Hartley - March 28th, 2015

Four last thingsOn Fatima childrenJuly 13, 1917, Our Lady of Fatima appeared to the Children, Lucia, Francisco, and little Jacinta in the usual ordinary way that they had witnessed the Virgin Mary’s earlier arrivals May 13th and June 13th, 1917.

“She opened Her hands once more, as She had done the two previous months. The rays [of light] appeared to penetrate the earth, and we saw, as it were, a vast sea of fire. Plunged in this fire, we saw the demons and the souls [of the damned]. The latter were like transparent burning embers, all blackened or burnished bronze, having human forms. They were floating about in that conflagration, now raised into the air by the flames which issued from within themselves, together with great clouds of smoke. Now they fell back on every side like sparks in huge fires, without weight or equilibrium, amid shrieks and groans of pain and despair, which horrified us and made us tremble with fright (it must have been this sight which caused me to cry out, as people say they heard me). The demons were distinguished [from the souls of the damned] by their terrifying and repellent likeness to frightful and unknown animals, black and transparent like burning coals. That vision only lasted for a moment, thanks to our good Heavenly Mother, Who at the first apparition had promised to take us to Heaven. Without that, I think that we would have died of terror and fear.”

Jacinta would later say that Mother Mary revealed to her that more souls go to hell because of the sins of the flesh than any other reason.

St. John Bosco relates a similar message in a in a vision given to him: “Bad companions, bad books, and bad habits,” my guide exclaimed, “are mainly responsible for so many eternally lost.”

St. Paul warns, “Do not be led astray: Bad company corrupts good morals. Become sober as you ought and stop sinning. For some have no knowledge of God…”

HellDaniel 12:2-3 states,“Many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake; Some shall live forever, others shall be an everlasting horror and disgrace. But the wise shall shine brightly like the splendor of the firmament, And those who lead the many to justice shall be like the stars forever.”

From the Mass, we sing, “Save us, Savior of the world, for by your Cross and Resurrection you have set us free.” Jesus is our Deliverer from captivity. When you are within the clutches of evil, the Devil brings his environment. He is weaving a huge web and like a spider, seeks to engulf you within his power.

The Devil uses war and abuse, hunger and slavery. He uses everything he can to take our eyes off of Jesus. Hence the warnings coming from the Bible, Our Lady of Fatima, and St. John Bosco.

Of the Catholic Faith, St. Peter writes, “But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people of his own, so that you may announce the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. Once you were no people but now you are God’s people; you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.” 1 Peter 2:9-10

Timothy (1)2 Timothy 2:22 states, “So turn from youthful desires and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord with purity of heart.”

St. Paul warns, “But understand this: there will be terrifying times in the last days, People will be self-centered and lovers of money, proud, haughty, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, irreligious, callous, implacable, slanderous, licentious, brutal, hating what is good, traitors, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, as they make a pretense of religion but deny it;s Power. Reject them.” 2 Timothy 3:1-5

1 Timothy 4:1-2 states, “Now the Spirit explicitly says that in the last times some will turn away from the faith by paying attention to deceitful spirits and demonic instructions through the hypocrisy of liars with branded consciences.”

Consider the war on the Christians by the Obama administration, all the public scandals taking place that is being covered up by the mainstream media. The war on the Christians coming from the Universities across America, the war on the family. All of this is playing a part leading many to go into exile, away from the Church.

confession 3It is time for Christians to take a stand against the rising tide of evil hitting our world. Jesus gives the Church the great commission, “Go therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20

James 5:19-20 states, “My brothers, if anyone among you should stray from the truth and someone bring him back, he should know that whoever brings back a sinner from the error of his way will save his soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins.”

Our Lady of Fatima would tell the Children of Fatima, “You have seen hell where the souls of poor sinners go. To save them, God wishes to establish in the world devotion to my Immaculate Heart. If what I say to you is done, many souls will be saved and there will be peace. The war is going to end (World War I); but if people do not cease offending God, a worse one will break out during the pontificate of Pius XI (World War II). When you see a night illumined by an unknown light, know that this is the great sign given you by God that he is about to punish the world for its crimes, by means of war, famine, and persecutions of the Church and of the Holy Father.”

mary 38“To prevent this, I shall come to ask for the consecration of Russia to my Immaculate Heart, and the Communion of Reparation on the First Saturdays. If my requests are heeded, Russia will be converted, and there will be peace; if not, she will spread her errors throughout the world, causing wars and persecutions of the Church. The good will be martyred, the Holy Father will have much to suffer, various nations will be annihilated. In the end, my Immaculate Heart will triumph. The Holy Father will consecrate Russia to me and she will be converted, and a period of peace will be granted to the world.”

It is very important that people cease to offend Our Lord, there are many who make attacks against the Immaculate Heart of Mary (Luke 2:35): the Immaculate Conception (Luke 1:28); against Mary’s Virginity (John 19:26); against her Divine Maternity (Mother of God) (Revelation 12:5) and her spiritual motherhood of mankind (Revelation 12:17); for the offences of those who encourage in the hearts of children indifference, contempt and even hatred of her, and finally as reparation for those who outrage her in her holy images.

We contend with all of this on a daily basis on Facebook because of the many attacks on Mary by those who claim to love Jesus. That really makes no sense, but then, nothing that is happening today makes any sense as it seams the world has gone crazy.

Vienny (1)We here at Deepertruth want to encourage you to lift high the cross of Christ and to grow in love of our holy Faith. To contend for it (Jude 3).

Jesus gives this message, “Blessed are they who wash their robes so as to have the right to the tree of life and enter the city through it’s gates. Outside are the dogs, the sorcerers, the unchaste, the murderers, the idol-worshipers, and all who love and practice deceit.”

There is a heaven and there is a hell, there is no escaping it. However, heaven is a place of great reward. Please pray for America and all that is happening today in the world, especially the Middle East.

The following is an interesting testimony of Father Jose Maniyangat. He is the current Pastor of St. Mary’s Mother of Mercy Catholic Church in Macclenny, Florida. This is taken from a vision he had of Hell:

maniyangatThe angel escorted me to hell. It was an awful sight! I saw Satan and the devils, an unquenchable fire of about 2,000 degrees Fahrenheit, worms crawling, people screaming and fighting, others being tortured by demons. The angel told me that all these sufferings were due to unrepented mortal sins. Then, I understood that there are seven degrees of suffering or levels according to the number and kinds of mortal sins committed in their earthly lives. The souls looked very ugly, cruel and horrific. It was a fearful experience. I saw people whom I knew, but I am not allowed to reveal their identities. The sins that convicted them were mainly abortion, homosexuality, euthanasia, hatefulness, unforgiveness and sacrilege. The angel told me that if they had repented, they would have avoided hell and gone instead to purgatory. I also understood that some people who repent from these sins might be purified on earth through their sufferings. This way they can avoid purgatory and go straight to heaven. I was surprised when I saw in hell even priests and Bishops, some of whom I never expected to see. Many of them were there because they had misled the people with false teaching and bad example.

The Catholic Defender: The Four Last Things Part 2, Judgement

Posted by Donald Hartley - March 27th, 2015

Four last thingsAt the end of time when the Lord Jesus Christ returns, he will judge the living and the dead.

LionsIn fact, in the Old Testament the prophets were killed by the people because they spoke the Word of God and the people rebelled.

The real purpose of this writing is more for self inventory, we need to look at ourselves and see how we measure up to the teaching of Christ.

We know there is a “Personal Judgment” when a person dies and then there will be the “General Judgment” at the Parousia when Jesus returns at the end of time.

What are going to be some issues that will bring down judgment?

judgement 1Matthew 10:12-15 states, “As you enter the house, salute it.

The more that a person is given the more accountability there will be.

JudgementWe have the revelation of Jesus Christ and his Catholic Church which is the voice of the Lord until Jesus returns.

The Catholic Church is graced with many signs and wonders of the Lord Jesus Christ for the sake of his people, the Church.

I have more than once, been told that someone would not beleive unless Mother Mary would appear to them. They have abandoned Chrisitianity for secular science.

In the last times a great deception would challenge many people to fall from their Faith. No question about it, secular humanism has had a terrible impact on our society and judgment is coming.

St. Peter warns about this scurge saying, “First of all you must understand this, that scoffers will come in the last days with scoffing, following their own passions and saying, ‘Where is the promise of his coming” (2 Peter 3:3-4)?

The signs of the Lord are many, Marian Apparitions, Eucharistic Miracles, the Incorruptibles, Healings, and many many more.

sodom-gomorrah-destroyed-content-bible-32933353We live in a perverse generation where children learn to imitate the foul language of their parents, the media in movies and music.

Rebellion is everywhere. Jesus warns of this Matthew 12:36-37, “I tell you, on the day of judgment men will render account for every careless word they utter; for by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned”.

Foul language is condemned in the scripture.

St.

They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us; but they went out, that they all are not of us” (1 John 2:18-20).

disobedienceToday, there are many millions of fallen away Catholics representing the second largest religious body second to only the Catholic Church.

Hosea 4:6 states, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge; because you have rejected knowledge, I reject you from being a priest to me.

The Prodigal Son who returns to the fold can be totally restored to the Church. The Lord would leave the 99 to find the one who had gone astray.

seven deadlySin has it’s consequences, especially if they are not confessed.

St. John states, “By this we know that we love the children of God. when we love God and obey his commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome” 1 John 5:2-3).

gods-judgment-condemnation-or-hope.jpg.crop_displayAt the time of our death, we will receive a personal judgement, the soul will go to one of three places, Heaven, Hell, or Purgatory. Those going to Purgatory are saved and will go to Heaven at the Parousia.

Jesus will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead. The soul will be united with your glorified body that will live forever. Now is the time to prepare as we will all be held accountable for the works we did. Our faithfulness to our Lord.

St. John is given a glimpse of of what heaven will be like for those whose judgment brings them home:

“And I saw no temple in the city, for its temple is the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb.
